PASHLEY BIKES
If I had about two grand to spend on a bike, I’d buy this one. This Pashley has both style and elegance. If I was doing a shoot for Esquire, I’d probably have this bike somewhere in the frame.
A BIFERCATED TUSCAN WITH LASSO
I found this font the other day and there is something about it that just makes you smile. It’s free, so it might not be perfect, but might be fun to use. I hate the name of it…Hoedown. Sounds like a 24 pack of bush light mixed with a jo-ann fabric extravaganza.
But the font is actually a mix of two classic styles. One is that it is a tuscan typeface, which originated in Italy. Tuscans have that classic wood cut look and often will have a diamond shape in the center. Think old American baseball team logos. The second style is that it is bifurcated, which means that the serif edges are peeled back, much like a banana. But this font actually throws in a third modern style. If you look at the G, the serif is curled like a lasso. I’m not sure if this is the part of the font that I hate or the part that I love. Regardless, it makes it more whimsical.
